Early life and family

Daddy Dave was born as Dave Comstock on April 4, 1973 in Oklahoma City, USA It was Dave’s parents – Peter and Marge Comstock – who gave him his first car. After getting his driver’s license in 1989 at the age of 16, he switched to street racing almost immediately. Although he started out in a 1978 Chevy Impala, a clear underdog in the racing world, his driving skills enabled him to win races and build a reputation for himself.

Career

“Roses”

Despite years of street racing, “Roses‘ was Daddy Dave’s first big break. A precursor to Discovery Channel’s show “Street Outlaws”. “Pinks explored the culture of street racing in a highly controlled environment. The name of the show is derived from the slang term “Racing for pinks.”, a term that refers to the title deeds of a document that is the stake of the race. Dave appeared on the show in 2009. There is very little information about the show’s cast, making Dave’s progression and achievements in the series unclear. It was around this time that Dave met his future co-star, Justin Shearer.

“Street Bandits”

After the structured and controlled environment of “Pinks”, this show came as quite a turning point in the media portrayal of drag racing. The show premiered on January 10, 2013 and is set in Oklahoma. The show prides itself on having a cast that appears on the infamous “list” – an underground list of the most elite names in racing. After meeting Justin Shearer (Big Chief), Dave fit right in and was dubbed ‘King of the Streets’.

Daddy Dave initially drove a 1996 GMC Sonoma S10 pickup truck affectionately named “Goliath”.

As is the reality with street racing cars, Goliath was equipped with gadgets and upgrades that transformed it from an industrial model vehicle into a sleek racing work of art. The risks are high in this sport, but Dave was more than compensated, both with race winnings and the sponsorship of a construction magnate, Jackie Knox, who financed and supported Dave until disaster struck in 2015.

Has Dad Dave from “Street Outlaws” Died?

The short answer: no, but it was an extremely close call. In 2015Dave had prepared for a street race at the Amarillo Dragway in Texas with Goliath, worth $150,000.

Just seconds into the race, Dave lost control of his vehicle which slammed into a wall, throwing it into a series of six somersaults. Fortunately, they were able to free him from the wreckage and take him to hospital for treatment. Rumors circulated that he had been killed in the crash, but he managed to hang on and eventually recover from a broken shoulder, bruised lungs, a massive concussion and other minor injuries.

Goliath 2.0

While he did not lose his life, this was a turning point in the star’s career as it marked the end of his funding from Knox.

With Goliath decimated, he began looking for a new vehicle and spent hours in his auto repair shop working on Goliath 2.0. When he returned to the street, it was in a 1963 Chevy Nova equipped with a twin-turbo setup, race engine and Proline 481x.

Daddy Dave owns a series of auto repair shops under the Comstock Auto Service brand. His stores come highly recommended by BendPak, as Dave lists them as his go-to manufacturers of equipment and tools. It is claimed that the shops do a great job and provide great services without any “showboating or grandeur” to be found. – high praise for a celebrity store.

Private life

Crazy enough, Daddy Dave is said to have earned his nickname because he had several children with different women. While there is no concrete evidence of these relationships, this piece of trivia is widely accepted as fact. But even if that’s true, those days ended for Dave when he married Cassie Comstock on March 1, 2013. The two now have two daughters and have done a great job of getting them out of the media. Cassie pushed Dave to quit street racing after the trauma of his accident, but quickly realized this was too ingrained in Dave’s life for him to ever stop.

Daddy Dave has a lean build with a slender, lanky figure, although he is only 1.72 m tall. He has dark brown hair and a bit of a beard, which is starting to show signs of gray. He has light green eyes and has recovered remarkably since the crash and looks whole and healthy.
