GameStop fires its CEO – The Verge
GameStop has fired CEO Matt Furlong, the company announced Wednesday as part of its Q1 2023 results. There is no immediate replacement, though board chairman Ryan Cohen has been named executive chairman, the company said. a short press release about Furlong’s resignation.
GameStop has also appointed Mark Robinson as the company’s new “principal executive officer” with the title of general manager, according to a Company Form 10-Q. Robinson has been with GameStop for nearly eight years, according to his LinkedIn, and most recently served as general counsel to the company.
GameStop canceled its earnings call today.
