One of the biggest games of 2022, Elder ringgets what appears to be the first major expansion: titled DLC content Shadow of the Erdboom.

Developer FromSoftware announced in a tweet this morning that the DLC was officially in development, though the company didn’t share when we might expect a release.

a short blog post confirmed that the DLC is coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam. It also said a “follow-up report is still a bit ahead” (translation from Japanese via Google), so hopefully we can expect more details sooner rather than later.

Elder ring DLC is highly anticipated content for a number of reasons. Elder ring has been a huge success, selling over 20 million copies worldwide, and FromSoftware has a habit of releasing DLC ​​for its titles within a year after the first launch of a game.

We have no details on what story or content Shadow of the Erdboom could address – just the name and the single image above. But for a game with such incredible and dense lore, these alone are enough to fuel weeks of speculation.
