Fans of the action-packed mixed media franchise, Black Rock Shooter, are in for a treat! In February, an announcement on the official website and Twitter account has confirmed the release date of Black Rock Shooter: Dawn Fall. It is an anime television production that will premiere in Japan on April 3, 2022.
Furthermore, the ban was lifted on the promotional video (PV), the artist of the ending theme (ED), and the synopsis. And the character designs were also revealed†
International fans might get a chance to check out this latest installment in the Black Rock Shooter series. That is, provided they live in a region with access to the Disney+ streaming service†
The Walt Disney Company launched this service in November 2019 and is currently available in the Americas, most countries of the European Union, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand. And in 2022, more countries and territories will have access to Disney+.
What is Black Rock Shooter: Dawn Fall about?
It is a sci-fi anime set in 2062. After the failure of a workforce automation project, controlling artificial intelligence (AI) known as Artemis decides to attack humanity.
But Empress, a mysterious girl, who happens to be one of the surviving guardians of humanity, wakes up in an underground base. She has lost her memory, but remembers her Colonel’s words.
Empress must destroy the space elevator that connects the Moon to Earth. And why this is important is because the mechanized forces mass produced on the moon will descend upon Earth and wreak havoc.
Who are the collaborators and cast behind this project?
Ryohei Fuke, or huke, handles the character design while the character designer is Masayuki Nonaka. The concept design is by Makoto Ishiwata and Little girl Ota by Nitroplus and Rui Tomono. And the screenplay is by Ryo Yoshigami and Makoto Fukami, while Motoki Tanaka is the director.
The animation production is from Bibury Animation Studios, the same studio behind the likes of Azur Lane: The Animation and The Quintessential Quintuplets. And production is by the Black Rock Shooter: Dawn Fall Production Committee in association with UNLIMITED PRODUCE by TMS.
