Cool Doji Danshi Anime Fall 2022 Release Date Revealed by Play It Cool, Guys PV Trailer

Scheduled for release in October 2022, Cool Doji Danshi – the story of four guys who mask their carelessness with cool exteriors – has a new PV trailer revealing the voice cast. A life story full of comedy and relatable situations, this new anime should be lighthearted fun if it’s anything like Kokone Nata’s manga.
Studio Pierrot will provide the animation for the series. Best known for their work on shounen classics like Black Clover and Naruto, it will be interesting to see how the studios take a slow-burn “shoujo” show. Regardless of the label, Studio Pierrot creates more than shonen; gag series Osomatsu-san and the slice of life anime Polar Bear Cafe are just a few examples.
The plot of Cool Doji Danshi – aka Play It Cool, Guys in English – is hard to quantify. It doesn’t follow a traditional structure with clear character goals and major conflict. Instead, it introduces four main characters with a common dilemma. Sometimes their careless attitude leads to embarrassing situations. But in the end, each of them has its own way of dealing with its shortcomings.
Who is the voice cast of Cool Doji Danshi?
College student Hayate Ichikura is voiced by Chiaki Kobayashi, best known for his work as Vinland Saga’s Askeladd and SK∞’s Langa. The reflective and introverted of the crew, Ichikura seeks individuality while feeling directionless.
Kouki Uchiyama — Kei Tsukishima from Haikyuu!! and Toge Inumaki of Jujutsu Kaisen — will provide the voice of high school student Shun Futami. Futami puts on a hard facade to mask his carelessness and struggles with the way others see him, especially the girls at his school.
Takayuki Mima, the aloof office worker, is voiced by the protagonist of Goblin Slayer and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’s Weather Report, Yuuichirou Umehara. Unlike the rest of the crew, Takayuki is oblivious to his clumsy nature and how it affects his colleagues.
Rounding out the cast is Shouya Chiba – Shin 86 and Classroom of the Elite’s Kiyotaka – voiced by Souma Shiki, Takayuki’s 19-year-old brother. His way of dealing with his absent-mindedness is through positivity; Souma acknowledges his mistakes, but tries to put a positive spin on them.
