The release date of Chainsaw Man by Studio MAPPA is reportedly in the fall of 2022.
On May 16, 2022, Crunchyroll stated, “Chainsaw Man anime is coming to Crunchyroll later this year!”
Crunchyroll will stream Chainsaw Man in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, Middle East and CIS.
The English dub of Crunchyroll’s Chainsaw Man was also confirmed in advance. The Chainsaw Man dubs will feature English, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, and German.
Crunchyroll’s Chainsaw Man trailer was also released that day.
The total number of episodes and/or courses has not yet been announced.
What is a ‘cour’, you may ask? For those unfamiliar with the lingo, a “cour” is a quarterly block of Japanese TV broadcasts based on the physical seasons that usually consists of 10 to 13 episodes.
On April 16, 2022, the information about the original release date of Chainsaw Man Episode 1 was claimed by anime news outlet Sugoi LITE†
“TV Anime “Chainsaw Man” – Broadcast Fall 2022,” reads the tweet. Another tweet claimed that the leaker knew this information from “03 days ago”.
In response to that, another anime newsboy, Jaymes Hanson, replied: “Lol. … I just laugh at people who doubt it, I don’t know what news or leak you have, but thanks for confirming.” In response, Sugoi LITE claimed: “I got ‘words’ three days ago. I was told to remain skeptical when I first heard about it.”
On March 22, 2022, Jaymes Hanson also had earlier claimed“Chainsaw Man Anime is 2-Cour, Fall.”

The information about the release date of Chainsaw Man anime has not been verified by official sources such as the Chainsaw Man anime website or the Studio MAPPA Twitter account. All anime news leaks should be considered rumor and taken with a grain of salt.
However, Sugoi LITE has a reliable history of making accurate claims in the past. In addition, such leaks often came a few days before the official announcements were made public.
The only reason people are hesitant to believe the leak is that dodgy news sites previously tried to claim that the Chainsaw Man anime release date was “confirmed” by Studio MAPPA in the middle of the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie party of February 2022. It’s happening. just so that the previous misinformation can become reality.

The Chainsaw Man anime project is headed by director Ryū Nakayama (director of Black Clover, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 Episode). Makoto Nakazono (Jujutsu Kaisen, SSSS.Gridman) is the lead director of the episode. Tatsuya Yoshihara (Black Clover) is the action director. Writer Hiroshi Seko (Ajin, Attack on Titan Season 4) is responsible for the scripts.
Artist Kazutaka Sugiyama (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation) is the human character designer, while Kiyotaka Oshiyama (DEVILMAN crybaby, Space Dandy) is the diabolical character designer. Makoto Nakazono (DARLING in the FRANXX, Little Witch Academia) is the technical director. Composer Agraph/Kensuke Ushio (DEVILMAN crybaby, A Silent Voice) makes the music.
The Chainsaw Man OP (opening) and ED (ending) theme song music has not yet been announced.

This article contains everything known about Chainsaw Season 1 (Chainsaw Man Part 1) and all related news. As such, this article will be updated over time with news, rumors and analysis. In the meantime, let’s get into what is known for sure.
Chainsaw Man 2022 release date confirmed
As of the latest update, Studio MAPPA or any company involved in the production of the anime has not officially confirmed the release date of Chainsaw Man Season 1. However, Studio MAPPA’s anime adaptation Chainsaw Man was first announced in December 2020.
Once the news is officially confirmed, this article will be updated with the relevant information.
In the meantime, it’s possible to speculate about when the Chainsaw Man anime release date will be in the future.
The first Chainsaw Man trailer was released on June 27, 2021. On December 18, 2021, it was confirmed that MAPPA had planned a Chainsaw Man 2022 release date.
At this point, releasing Chainsaw Man in the summer of 2022 seems out of the question, as it would be odd for MAPPA to announce a general timeframe just 2.5 months before the summer of 2022. Logically, then, only fall 2022 remains as the only realistic Chainsaw Man release date target.
Based on MAPPA’s work page, their plan to release in 2022 still hasn’t changed. Heaven forbid, but there’s always the possibility that the increasingly crowded animation studio will postpone Chainsaw Man until 2023, so none of the animators need be chained (metaphorically) to their desks.
Chainsaw Man Anime Part 2 Release Date Predicted For Spring 2023
Studio MAPPA has joined the anime production committee for the Chainsaw Man anime with Japanese publisher Shueisha. A committee is a group of companies that have invested in an anime project that shares both the risk and the rewards.
As such, MAPPA has every interest in making the final season as successful as possible. They should also have more control over how the story of the manga series is adapted.
Based on the pace of the manga’s story, it’s possible that animation studio MAPPA could adapt part 1 of the manga as two courses. In order to maintain a good production schedule and keep the animation quality high, the studio could also split the track.
A “split-cour” is where a single anime season takes a break of several months before resuming TV broadcasts. If that happens, the first season of the anime will have a Chainsaw Man Part 2, which should not be confused with the Chainsaw Man manga’s Part 2 School Arc (Gakko-hen) due out in the summer of 2022.
Undoubtedly, Studio MAPPA already has enough projects in the pipeline in 2022. There are Chainsaw Man, Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku, Disney+’s Dance Dance Danseur, Kakegurui Twin, Alice and Therese’s Illusion Factory and the movie Yuri on Ice.
Attack On Titan Season 4 Part 3 release date and Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 release date have both been confirmed for 2023. There is also an upcoming Zombieland Saga movie about aliens in the works. Given all this, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Chainsaw Man anime Part 2 release date falls in the spring of 2023.

Why a Chainsaw Man Part 2 anime is needed
The story for the anime TV show Chainsaw Man is based on creator Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man manga. Chainsaw Man Part 1 has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since December 2020 and ended in December 2020 with 97 chapters collected in 11 volumes.
The release date of Chainsaw Man-manga Part 2 has been confirmed for the summer of 2022, where Denji goes to school. The second installment will move the manga series from Weekly Shonen Jump to Shueisha’s Shonen Jump Plus online digital magazine.
North American publisher VIZ Media is releasing the Chainsaw Man Part 1 manga in the US and other English-speaking countries. From June 7, 2022, the English translation of the Chainsaw Man manga will be caught up with Volume 11.
Chainsaw Man Part 1 manga doesn’t offer a decent stopping point for any of its storylines in its 97 chapters, so two courses (about 24-26 episodes) seem necessary to finish the anime’s first season without leaving the audience hanging.
Some manga fans might argue that the story pace would be too fast, but at two courses, the Chainsaw Man anime would still be better than Studio MAPPA’s first adaptation of The God of Highschool anime, which squeezed 112 chapters into just 13 episodes.
Assuming Chainsaw Man Episode 24 ends the first season, the pace of adaptation would be about 4 chapters per episode. The manga’s insane story tempo also lends itself to a full adaptation of Part 1.
Let’s hope the animation quality of Chainsaw Man Season 1 meets the quality standards set by previous MAPPA works. Stay tuned!
