Julia Goldani is of Mexican, Brazilian and American descent. While she was born in Los Angeles, her family later moved to Rio de Janeiro where she spent most of her childhood. During her time there, she developed an interest in ballet, an interest she carried with her when her family moved back to Los Angeles with her. At first she had some trouble adjusting in the US, as she had only spoken Portuguese in Brazil, but she eventually got used to speaking English.
Following her dream of becoming a professional ballet dancer, she moved to New York City and attended the Professional Children’s School, known for housing many students who aspire careers in dance or acting. In operation since 1914, it was originally founded to help younger people get opportunities for performing in New York, but has eventually integrated the more popular world of film and television into Hollywood. After completing her studies there, she further developed her experience and skills by attending the School of American Ballet.

Transition acting
Telle’s education would mean she had a good chance of joining one of the prestigious ballet companies in the US, such as the New York City Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet or the American Ballet Theatre, to name a few. She appeared in several performances as a student, with some of her notable performances including “Swan Lake”, “Sleeping Beauty”, and “The Nutcracker”. However, her constant training eventually took its toll on her body, and she suffered labral tears in her hips which now also suffered from tendinitis. This forced her to take a year off, which can be devastating due to the early starting point most ballet dancers have to make.
During this time, she started taking drama lessons to take her mind off it. Her interest in acting grew as she took more classes, and being so close to Hollywood, she started attending auditions, which led to her first role playing the role of Sasha Torres in an upcoming series called “Bunheads”. Despite having no acting experience, her experience in dance helped her land the part.
