Early life and education
Holiday spent a few years of her childhood in Portland with a dentist father and mother who worked as a teacher. Her father later enlisted in the US Army and with his new life she spent a lot of time traveling around Asia with her family. She eventually returned to the US to continue her studies and attended high school in Colorado.
Wanting to take a break from her studies, she spent some time in Washington and took an acting class there, during which she would meet her future husband, Wilson.
She then moved to Iowa, where she pursued her dream of writing by enrolling in the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, a creative writing program at the University of Iowa. The program is well known in the country, considered by many to be the best program in the US and has spawned numerous Pulitzer Prize winners.
Career and Philanthropy
One of Reinhorn’s first notable releases is the book called “Big Cats” published in 2005. The book is a collection of short storiesand contains a dedication to her husband.
Her work has been featured in several literary magazines, including “Ploughshares,” a quarterly magazine that often features writers who have won major writing awards such as Pulitzer Prizes, Nobel Prizes, National Book Awards, and many more. She has also been featured in “Zoetrope: All-Story” magazine, an award-winning fiction magazine, known to feature high-profile writers before their rise to fame, such as David Benioff and Adam Haslett. They also publish work by established authors, such as the case of Cynthia Ozick and Don DeLillo.
Holiday also works as a teacher of writing and literature and has taught at the University of California, Los Angeles. She is also very active when it comes to charity, helping with her husband’s organization Lide Foundation, which aims to help teenage girls in Haiti, especially those who are victims of poverty, malnutrition and abuse. The foundation has grown to 14 villages across the country and has provided scholarships to many teenage girls.

Rainn grew up in an artistic family, his mother worked as an actress while his father was a novelist.
He briefly lived in Nicaragua before returning to the US where he began his education. After graduating from New Trier High School, he enrolled at the University of Washington where he earned a degree in drama. He then continued his studies and completed a Master of Fine Arts in acting.
Early in his career, he did theater productions, while working as a moving van driver to help pay the bills. He appeared in numerous productions, then made his first appearance in the soap opera “One Life to Live” in 1997, followed in 1999 by his film debut in “Galaxy Quest”, before landing a supporting role in “Almost Famous”.
In 2003, he landed a regular role in the HBO show called “Six feet under”, who received acclaim for his performance, which even led to him contributing to a Screen Actors Guild award for the ensemble. He also made numerous cameo appearances, including on “Entourage”, “Monk”, “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”, and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”. In 2005, he had a series of film projects, including “The Life Coach” and the comedy “Sahara”.

In the same year, Wilson landed his most notable role, in the TV show “The Office”, portraying the character Dwight Schrutewho stayed with the show for its entire eight-season run, winning numerous awards – it portrays the lives of employees who work in a fictional paper company, and also starred Steve Carell, Jenna Fischer, and John Krasinski.
While working on the show, the rise of his popularity meant that he landed other film projects including ‘Super’, ‘The Rocker’ and ‘Cooties’. He also did voice acting and lent his voice for “Monsters vs. Aliens”. One of his latest projects is a recurring role in “Star Trek: Discovery” which aired on CBS in 2017. The show takes place before the original “Star Trek” show and follows the story of the ship’s crew, the USS Discovery. .
Apart from acting, he also ventured into business in writing. He is one of the founders of the SoulPancake company and has released an autobiography called “The Bassoon King”.
Holiday and Rainn began a relationship in Washington in college, which eventually led her to settle in the area. They were married in 1995 with their ceremony at the Kalama River; they have a son together and homes in Los Angeles and Sisters, Oregon, moving to them depending on their work needs. The couple love pets and own three pit bulls, a zonkey and two Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs. The couple also enjoy doing charity work in their spare time, as evidenced by their work for the Lide Foundation, also known as Lide Haiti. They have also raised money for the Mona Foundation which helps developing countries.
