Camila Banus was born in Miami Beach, Florida, USA, on July 22, 1990 – her zodiac sign is Leo and she is an American national. She’s an actressperhaps best known for her portrayal of Gabi Hernandez in the romantic drama series “Days of Our Lives” which has been airing since 1965 while Camila was a member of the main cast from September 17, 2010 to June 12, 2014. The series stars Frances Reid, John Clarke and Macdonald Carey, and it’s about the lives of people living in the fictional city of Salem.
A huge hit, it has won 226 awards while being nominated for 462 others, including four Primetime Emmys – Camila was nominated for a Gold Derby TV Award for Younger Actress – Daytime Drama in 2013, and a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actress in a drama series in 2015.
Youth and education
Camila grew up in Miami Beach alongside her younger sister Gabriela, through their father Jaime Banus, who was an electrician, and their mother Carmen, who was a cleaner. Both girls became interested in acting while attending grade schooland they acted in many school plays before joining their high school drama club.
Camila was interested in a variety of things when she entered high school, playing soccer, learning to play the piano and practicing her writing skills. After her matriculation exam in 2008, she decided to focus on her career as an actress and did not enroll in any university.
Career as an actress
She made her TV series debut in 2008 playing Lola Montez in the romantic drama series “One Life to Live”, starring Erika Slezak, Michael Easton and Kristen Alderson, and which is about the Lord and Woleks families who in the made-up town of Llanview.

The series won 95 awards and was nominated for 423 others, including two Primetime Emmys. Camila was nominated in 2009 for a Young Artist Award for Outstanding Young Performer in a TV Series. She then played Alice in the short war film drama ‘Summer Camp’ directed and written by Danijel Sraka, which is about two teenagers who find out that they are brothers while fighting in a civil war.
In 2013, she played Talia Portillo in the action-adventure drama movie “Counterpunch”, starring Alvaro Orlando and Danny Trejo and is about the real story of Emilio, a boxer who dreams of winning the Golden Gloves championship.
In 2014, Camila played Simone Funicello in the coming of age comedy “Wishin’ and Hopin'” starring Wyatt Ralff, Molly Ringwald and Chevy Chase, and is closely based on the novel of the same name written by Wally Lamb. In 2016, she appeared in a single episode of the romantic drama thriller series ‘Mistresses’ starring Alyssa Milano, Jes Macallan, and Rochelle Aytes, and is about four girlfriends on a journey of self-discovery; the series won a People’s Choice Award for Most Popular Foreign Drama of the Year.
In 2018, Camila played a main character in the thriller film “Killer Caregiver” which also starred Nicole Hayden and Jaeden Bettencourt and is about a woman who finds out that her caretaker is determined to ruin her life.
Her last appearance was in 2018 and 2019, playing Nina Ferrera in the musical drama series “Star”, created by Lee Daniels and Tom Donaughy, and starring Jude Demorest, Brittany O’Grady and Ryan Destiny; the series was nominated for six awards.

Camila has been in a relationship with her boyfriend Marlon Aquino since 2012. The two met while filming for the same movie and have been together for about eight years now.
Rumors are circulating on the internet that the two got engaged in 2017 and got married in 2019, but these have not been confirmed. They currently live together in Los Angeles, California.
Marlon is an actor, perhaps best known for starring in the short comedy drama film “Big Brats” in 2013, written and directed by Jean Barker and also starred Devin Clark and Chloe Coleman. The film is about a woman who acts like a spoiled child on her 30th birthday.
Marlon is also known for appearing in a single episode of the science fiction drama series “The Last Ship” in 2014, and for guest starring in the action thriller drama series “9-1-1” in 2018.
