AustCyber Launches Innovation Network – Startup Daily
The federal government supported AustCyber in launching the AustCyber innovation network to help strengthen the industry as it becomes central to both the political and business response to online threats.
The network, part of the Stone & Chalk Group, is designed to nurture commercial relationships, provide thought leadership and help companies innovate with emerging technologies.
AustCyber and Michael Bromley, CEO of Stone & Chalk, said the AustCyber Innovation Network will spread across metropolitan and regional areas to drive innovation, strengthen cybersecurity communities and provide a unique platform for collaboration.
“Growing our domestic cybersecurity capabilities is imperative for the future competitiveness and sustainability of our industries and economy, not to mention national security and resilience,” he said.
“We are working closely with governments, industry and communities as we usher in the AustCyber Innovation Network.”
The project is supported by the Industry Growth Center initiative and coincides with the development of the government’s Cyber Security Strategy Review and Defense Strategic Review.
Cybersecurity and Home Affairs Minister Clare O’Neil MP welcomed the launch of the AustCyber Innovation Network.
“To achieve our goal of being the most cyber-secure country by 2030, new and innovative cybersecurity solutions will be paramount – this will be reflected in the Australian Cybersecurity Strategy 2023-2030, which we will release later this year,” she said . said.
Jason Murrell, director of the AustCyber group, said cybersecurity experts will collaborate and co-create solutions to advance the AustCyber Innovation Network. They begin by researching the current state of the local cybersecurity industry and developing strategies to strengthen programs to grow the industry.
“Our growing national footprint will increase accessibility for underserved and underrepresented regions and groups,” he said.
“Through the AustCyber Innovation Network, we are committed to providing continued support for the cybersecurity needs of everyone, including startups, scale-ups, businesses and government.”
