Apple’s new Mac Mini is up to $100 off at Adorama

Well, this is convenient timing. Our review of the new M2 Pro Mac Mini just went up and you can save up to $100 on pre-ordering it. The new Macmini in both being basic M2 configuration and it is more powerful M2 Pro version can be pre-ordered from Adorama for $549 ($50 off) and $1,199 ($100 off), respectively, when you use code APINSIDER at checkout (hat tip for Slick deals). These pre-orders will ship tomorrow, January 24, which is also the launch day for the new M2-ified MacBook Pros. But you may want to jump on this deal quickly, as we’re not sure how long it will last.

It’s rare to get a discount on Apple stuff when it comes out (it’s even less common on pre-orders), but this is a great opportunity to get the latest Mac Mini for the same price as the educational discount from Apple. The base model M2 of the Mac Mini comes with 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD, while the M2 Pro model obviously has the superior processor plus 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It also has an extensive port selection, from two USB-C ports to four. Use that money you saved for a monitor, mouse and keyboard with this pre-order discount. (The Mac Mini doesn’t include them.)

$549

The revised Mac Mini for 2023 starts at $599 for an M2-powered model with an eight-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB SSD. The Mini is also available with the M2 Pro chip, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD and a more robust port selection for $1,299.

In the world of gaming, the Xbox Elite Series 2 Core Controller is for sale $99.95 ($30 off) at Woot. This is Microsoft’s latest version of the customizable premium controller, though it essentially matches the same specs and design as the regular Elite Series 2, with some extras stripped down for a lower price and a clean white and black color scheme. While the Elite controllers haven’t been without their issues, they remain one of the best controllers you can get for Xbox and PC – offering a much better build than the standard Xbox controller and a built-in rechargeable battery that charges via USB-C (as opposed to replaceable AA batteries).

Now there are some things to keep in mind with the Elite Series 2 Core. First, if you want the four customizable rear paddle buttons, you’ll need to purchase a separate accessory pack that costs $59.99 (which, when combined with this deal, will run you a total of $159.94 – still cheaper than an Elite Series 2 from $179.99). Also, the Elite Series 2 Core normally comes with a 90-day warranty instead of the regular Elite Series 2’s one-year extended warranty. Woot states on its sales page that the warranty for the Core is one year, but it may not be accurate.

$100

The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 Core is functionally identical to the more expensive Elite Series 2, but it doesn’t come with the extra D-pad, back paddles, thumbsticks, or charging case. That could be purchased separately for $59.99.

Back in apple country, Verizon’s $50 off the second generation AirPods Pro is still active, which brings the price of the premium wireless earbuds down $199.99. This remains the best price for Apple’s most expensive Bluetooth earbuds to date, which look much like the originals but much improved noise cancellation, better sound quality overall, a nifty new volume up/down control, and a built-in speaker in the reason to tweet it through the Find My app if you misplace it.

There’s a lot to like about the latest AirPods Pro if you’re an iPhone, iPad, or Mac user and don’t mind locking yourself further into Apple’s ecosystem. Read our review.

$200

Apple’s latest AirPods Pro are based on the last-generation model, but include swipe controls and a new H2 chip that enables improved noise cancellation. They also come with a water-resistant charging case that supports Apple’s robust Find My network.

If you want to start podcasting, streaming, or just want to sound much better on Zoom calls, a good microphone is a must. The Blue Yeti USB microphone is on sale for $64.99 at GameStop. That’s a $65 savings, so you’re getting this slick black version of the Yeti (the coolest, in my opinion) for the best price ever. Plus, if you have one three months prepaid membership for PC Game Pass to your shopping cart with the mic, you’ll get $10 off that (normally $29.99).

Now choosing a microphone can be a personal decision for many people. There’s no perfect microphone, but many people love how the Blue Yeti looks and sounds. The truth is that many people accidentally misuse this mic (you’re supposed to be talking to the side, not the top) and use it in rooms that are far from ideal. The Yeti is a condenser microphone, so it performs best in a room without hard surfaces that cause reflections. But even if your space isn’t set up perfectly, you can put a microphone like this to good use as long as you keep it close to your mouth (if you leave it on your desk, your keyboard will no doubt pick up more than your voice). So if you take advantage of this great deal, do yourself a favor and check it out a tree arm.

$65

The Blue Yeti is a proven USB microphone. The well-built device is incredibly easy to use and features built-in controls for easy operation, so you can capture studio-quality sound in your bedroom or home office with ease.
