This discontinuation of serialization by the manga’s writer and illustrator, Kazue Katobegan in July 2021. The manga is expected to return in April 2022.
However, the return period was shifted to one month and has returned in May 2022.
Blue Exorcist manga hiatus and more
The news of the hiatus was announced last year by Kazue on her Twitter page†
She said she was unable to work on two serials at the same time and decided to focus on another project. This is an edit by the author Fuyumi Ono‘s Eizen Karukaya Kaitan (Strange Stories from the Handy Shop Karukaya) horror novels.
This project was completed in April, and Kazue took a month-long hiatus before ending the Blue Exorcist’s months-long hiatus.
Rin and Yukio return with a new chapter of Blue Exorcist in the June 2022 Jump SQ, which was published in Japan on May 2.

The manga is set in a two-dimensional world. These are the human world, Assiah and the demon world Gehenna. The story revolves around twin brothers Rin and Yukio Okumura with Rin as the protagonist.
Both brothers were raised by a powerful exorcist, Father Fujimoto. Rin did not know the true identity of their biological father.
Rin’s contact with a demon brings Father Fujimoto’s revelation that the demon Lord Satan is the real father of the twins.
Unfortunately, Satan himself kills Father Fujimoto in an attempt to return Rin to the demon world.
Before that, Fujimito gave Rin a demon-killing sword that saves his life.
From then on, the series largely follows Rin’s quest to become the strongest exorcist, joining the mysterious True Cross Academy to defeat Satan.
