Youth and education

Amy was raised as a single child in Sacramento, by her father, who is a paranormal investigator, and her mother, who is a writer – the family lived in a haunted house (for those who believe).

Amy’s father took her to many houses while he was at work, which were reportedly haunted, so Amy became interested in becoming a paranormal investigator at a very young age. She was six years old when she saw her first ghost, as the two were face to face and the ghost was wearing green clothes – after her father asked around, the ghost was believed to be the son of the people who lived there before them, and who died during World War II.

She attended a local high school, where she was physically active playing soccer and volleyball, and was interested in history and geography.

After graduating in 1993, she decided not to enroll in a university but to focus on her career.

Career as an actress, TV personality and other ventures

Amy started working for a health insurance company and changed several positions during her time there, but after getting work as a paranormal investigator, she left her previous job without giving it much thought. She then traveled across the US investigating alleged haunted houses and later began working with a Sacramento paranormal investigation team, before joining The Atlantean Paranormal Society based in Warwick, Rhode Island, which has been operating since its founding in 1990 by Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson.

Amy collaborated with Jason and Grant on their show “Beyond Reality Radio”.

In 2004, Amy starred in the thriller paranormal series “Ghost Hunters”, while the series is still running and starring Jason Hawes, Steve Gonsalves and Grant Wilson. With an hour-long episode coming out each week, the series follows several real-life paranormal investigators in (supposedly) haunted places across the US. In 2016, Amy starred in the reality paranormal TV series ‘Paranormal Lockdown’, which also starred show creator Nick Groff, Katrina Weidman and James Lurie and follows paranormal investigators who are trapped in haunted places for three days, trying to find evidence strong enough to prove the existence of ghosts.

In 2012, after giving birth, Amy launched her own tour company Strange Escapes, focused on exploring places with haunted backgrounds in the US. Her business keeps her busy and travelling, and Amy has also visited several European countries after being invited to check for paranormal activity in countries such as England and Austria.

Most recently, Amy appeared as herself in 31 of the 41 episodes to date of the reality TV series “Kindred Spirits” since late 2016, which also stars Adam Berry and Chip Coffey, and follows Amy and Adam as they visit those who believe that ghosts are haunting their homes.

The two then try to contact these ghosts and collect evidence that would prove that the house is indeed haunted. Amy has also served as the show’s producer.

Love life and relationships

Amy has kept the details of her love life away from the media’s curiosity, and not much is known about her husband. She refers to her husband as Jimmy when he seems to be better known as ‘Mr. X’ – rumor has it that the two met after Amy was invited to check his house for ghosts.

They dated for more than four years before getting married in 2012 in a small ceremony attended only by the two’s closest friends and family. On October 11, 2012, Amy gave birth to their daughter Charlotteand it is believed that Amy has already brought her daughter to work with her, and that Charlotte is interested in becoming a paranormal investigator like her mother.

Before meeting her mystery husband, Amy was in a long-term relationship with a man she had known since childhood, but they would break up after four years together because the man was unfaithful.

Hobbies and other interests

Amy likes to drink good alcohol, mature wine being her first choice, while she also likes to drink beer and cocktails. One of her biggest hobbies is looking for rare items in antique shops – she often turns shops upside down until she has checked everything they have to offer, and whether or not they have anything paranormal.

Summer is her favorite seasonwhile she likes to take a break from work and lie on the beach with a glass of wine in her hand, tan her skin or take a dip in the ocean.

She is an animal lover and her favorites are cats and foxes.

Amy likes to watch movies in her spare time, and some of her favorite actresses and actors are Angelina Jolie, Julia Roberts and Leonardo DiCaprio, while some of her favorite movies are “Tomb Rider: Lara Croft – The Cradle of Life”, “Runaway Bride” , and “Inception”.
