Early life and education
Amber Leigh Lancaster was born on September 19, 1980 in Tacoma, Washington State USA – she is white and has the American nationality. Not much is known about her parents, but she is an only child. She attended Franklin Pierce High School in her neighborhood.
Ever since she was a teenager, Lancaster has loved fashion and modelling; at the age of 18, she won the Miss Washington Teen USA title. She later joined the cheerleading squad of the Seattle Seahawks American Football team called the Sea Gals and remained with the squad for five seasons. She then moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue her modeling and dancing career.
Career
Lancaster joined the syndicated dance show “Soul Train” in 2003 and danced regularly for three years before leaving in 2006. While starring in “Soul Train”, she appeared in Bo Bice’s movie video for the song “The Real Thing”.
In 2007, she was part of the Scream Awards and the following year she was part of the game show “The Price Is Right”, becoming one of the show’s regular models. In 2009, Lancaster was at the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards in which she was a trophy holder. The following year, she portrayed Jenny Swanson in the comedy series that aired on MTV, “The Hard Times of RJ Berger”, remaining on the show until 2011.
Lancaster had a few more acting turns as she also made cameo appearances in several TV series including ‘My Own Worst Enemy’, ‘Days of Our Lives’, ‘CSI: Miami’ and ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’.
In addition to her modeling and dancing career, Lancaster is also an interior designer and entrepreneur, and now runs her own company – Lancaster Interiors.
Marriage to AJ Allodi and health complications
Lancaster met businessman AJ Allodi in November 2015 when they were introduced to each other by mutual friends, the actor Justin Gaston and his wife Melissa Ordway Gaston. The duo did not see each other for a few months, but got back together in early 2016, and 10 months into their relationship on October 21, 2016, Allodi proposed to Lancaster in front of their family and friends.
He said he was planning to propose during a romantic trip to the Bahamas they had planned, but Lancaster’s grandmother got very sick so the vacation was canceled and Allodi didn’t want to wait. Lancaster accepted the proposal and a year later, on October 7, 2017, the couple married in a grand ceremony in Palm Springs, California. Allodi wore a classic navy blue suit with a bow and white shirt, while Lancaster wore a long, white wedding dress with a corset and lace. The guest list included big names such as Jessica Hall, Drew Carey and Kenny “The Jet” Smith.
In April 2019, the couple announced Lancaster’s pregnancy; the child was due to be born in October, but Lancaster developed preeclampsia, which complicated her pregnancy, resulting in their son, Russell Levi, being born two months early, on August 3, 2019.
A few weeks later, Lancaster revealed to the public in an Instagram post that she had to undergo a partial hysterectomy – her uterus was removed – due to complications that arose during the birth. Lancaster shared a touching photo on her Instagram account of her holding her son for the first time.
She stated that she had severe blood loss, her kidneys were failing and she had suffered an injury to her carotid artery. She was on continuous kidney dialysis and recovered somewhat, but as of June 2020 it is still unknown how her long-term health will be affected.
Private life
Before her marriage to Allodi, Lancaster was in multiple public relations. In 2008, she dated Zach Gilford, the actor known for appearing in “Friday Night Lights” in which he portrayed Matt Saracen; the duo split in 2009.
The second revealed relationship was with the actor Zack Conroy, best known for his portrayal of James Spaulding on the soap opera “Guiding Light”, resulting in a Daytime Emmy Award nomination in the Outstanding Younger Actor category for his contribution to the series. The couple dated from 2010 to 2013.
Lancaster is very active on most social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. She has more than 310,000 followers on her Instagram where she shares many details about her life, especially information that may interest other mothers and women with various postpartum health issues.
