Airtasker is supporting a new coworking office for social impact startups at Tank Stream Labs
Sydney coworking community and service provider Tank Stream Labs has opened a new CBD office for social impact businesses, with support from ASX-listed job marketplace Airtasker.
The partnership means that Tank Stream Labs can provide even more affordable office space to social impact companies that positively impact their communities, the environment and other social causes.
Bradley Delamare, CEO of Tank Stream Labs, said the new coworking hub will be a great opportunity for companies to collaborate and network with like-minded individuals while accessing the resources and support of Tank Stream Labs and Airtasker.
The hub already has the support of a number of social enterprises including Taronga Conservation Society Australia through the HATCH programme.
“There are more and more early-stage companies and early-stage impact investors focusing on social issues such as the environment, healthcare, ethical AI/data, etc.,” said Delamere.
“Despite the growth of these companies, there are not many dedicated hubs that are purely focused on support. Our partnership with Airtasker is a step towards building a stronger community and supporting social impact businesses making a difference in the world.”
The space is located in TSL’s social impact hub at 120 Sussex Street, Sydney.
The organization also recently opened a new level 17 coworking site in International Tower 3 in Barangaroo, and also has space in the Sydney Startup Hub on York Street, as well as a scale-up hub in Tech Central.
Tim Fung, CEO and founder of Airtasker, said his company is committed to making a positive impact on society by strengthening social impact businesses and supporting social causes.
“This new partnership builds on our mission to empower people to realize the full value of their skills as we now offer a tool alongside our digital marketplace that further facilitates this empowerment,” he said.
“Since Airtasker’s inception, we’ve helped build strong and positive community bonds between locals, and we’re confident that this offering to social impact businesses will enable them to continue to strengthen and become a force for promote positive change.”
Airtasker is a longtime member of the Tank Stream community and one of the first startups to graduate from it. In 2017, Fung enlisted a group of Airtaskers to help furnish the Sydney Startup Hub location when it opened.
