Born on October 10, 1982 in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, USA, Tony Khan is a businessman, best known as the founder and president of the professional wrestling promotion All Elite Wrestling (AEW), which started in 2019 with significant attention in the wrestling world. He is also a co-owner of several professional American Football teams, including the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League (NFL).

Beginning of early life, education and career

Tony grew up in Champaign-Urbana and is of Pakistani and American descent, with his American roots on his mother’s side. At a young age, he aspired to follow in the footsteps of his father, who helped him learn the many ways of doing business and money even when he was a child. After graduating from high school, he enrolled at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he studied for a degree in finance.

All Elite Wrestling

In 2018 Tony explored the possibility of creating a professional wrestling promotion as he has been a lifelong fan of the sport.

After a great show from several independent stars and former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) talent, he teamed up with Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks to recruit wrestlers and promote an upcoming event, which would become All Elite Wrestling (AEW), founded in 2019 Their roster features some of the most talented wrestlers from around the world, including names like Kenny Omega, Jon Moxley and Chris Jericho. The company is known for being home to many stars of WWE’s past and competes directly with them.

Father – Shahid Khan

Shahid grew up in Pakistan in a middle-class family who worked in construction. After graduating from high school, he moved to the US, where he studied for a degree in industrial engineering, while working a part-time job to make ends meet.

His first job was with the Flex-N-Gate Corporation, an auto manufacturing company that took him on as one of their engineers after graduation. While there, he opened his first business, Bumper Works, which made custom car bumpers and body repairs for pickup trucks.

The business venture was successful and the money he made led him to buy Flex-N-Gate, growing it into a major supplier of bumpers to much larger car manufacturers. He partnered with Toyota and expanded Flex-N-Gate, making it one of the strongest manufacturing companies in the US.

With the money he made from the company, he started looking for further investments and became interested in buying sports teams, which after many attempts led to the purchase of the Jacksonville Jaguars. He is considered the lead investor under many of his son’s business endeavours, and in 2012 he was featured by “Forbes” as the Face of the American Dream, having managed – self-made – a of the richest people in the world.

Private life

Tony Khan is single and he doesn’t talk about his romantic endeavors.

He prefers to keep it away from the public eye, instead focusing on his love of professional wrestling and other sports in his social media accounts. Close friends with many athletes and legends, he makes connections and also has enough money to attend high-profile events.

While he has been mostly a private man, he has also been involved in a war of words against other executives and athletes in the past. On one occasion, Tony had an altercation with professional wrestler Randy Orton, who called out Tony for using his promotion’s name to increase the value of his contract in WWE. He also recently had an online stock exchange with professional American Football player Yannick Ngakoue, out of the player’s frustration that he has not yet been traded by the Jaguars.
